By air
Frankfurt Airport is a hub for numerous airlines. From Frankfurt Airport an Intercity Express (ICE) train leaves at least once an hour to Mannheim (travel time about 32 minutes). Taxis are available in front of the airport.
By rail and public transport
Mannheim's main train station (Mannheim Hauptbahnhof) is a well-connected ICE junction.
You can take the following bus/tram lines to GESIS:
- Bus line 60 (direction Pfeifferswörth), exit: Universität West
- Bus line 65 (direction Popakademie), exit: Universität West
- Tram line 1 (direction Schönau), 5 (direction Heidelberg), exit: Schloss
You can find information on the timetables here or on Google Maps. If you don’t mind a little walk, GESIS is also about 20 minutes walking distance from the main station.
Next to the main station, you will also find a VRN-Nextbike rental station. Here you can rent a bicycle via app. A drop-off station is right next to GESIS in B6 at the building of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Mannheim in A5. It's another minute's walk from here.
Around the main station you will also usually find e-scooters from the companies Bolt and Dott.
By car
You can reach us by car via the A6, Mannheim Mitte exit. Finding a parking place free of charge and close to the venue may prove difficult. However, there are several parking garages (chargeable) close to GESIS.
